Understanding Transformers

Transformers are used throughout this world to raise or lower a specific voltage.  Understanding the theory behind transformers is an important part of the electrical trade.  This course will help make the connection with grounding and bonding as it relates to transformers.  Understanding operating voltages at 120/240v, 120/208v, 277/480v single-phase and 3-phase, transformer sizing, transformer balancing, panel balancing, and conductor sizing.  Different types of transformers such as isolation, buck, boost, wye, delta will be reviewed.  Also learn how to size the primary and secondary protection.
